Caring Ministry
Chair: Jan Green

The Caring Ministry supports individuals from the church and community who need assistance or encouragement.   Their activities include:

  • Providing temporary assistance with rent or utility bills
  • Providing meals to members during illness or other challenging times
  • Ensuring all congregation members receive a birthday card
  • Working at Meals on Wheels, preparing and delivering meals to the homebound
  • Preparing and serving the Friendship Feast once a month at First Christian Church
  • Providing Christmas baskets for families in need.
  • Making Bibles for the blind at a Lutheran Braille Workers center at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Tulsa
  • Supporting the Manger. The Manger provides formula, milk, baby and toddler food, diapers, diaper supplies and available clothing to infants and children 5 years and under whose families are low-income and/or in a crisis situation.
  • And helping elsewhere as the need arises.

“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love
of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”
